You’ve made the thing, now it’s time to finish it by putting on a border of some kind. Whether it’s a blanket or a button band for your newest cardigan, this class will help you learn how to find the right number of stitches to pick up for a border that lays perfectly flat without ruffling or bunching. We will also talk about intentional ruffling or cinching of stitches with borders.
Come prepared with an 8” x 8” swatch in any stitch pattern you prefer.
Bring the same size tool and yarn as swatch for border. Yarn should be a contrasting color to the swatch.
Must know basic stitches with confidence. Must be able to read your work.
Knit: Cast on, knit, purl, bind off, various increases.
Crochet: Chain, single crochet, double crochet, various increases.
Tunisian: Chain, Tunisian Simple Stitch, Tunisian Purl Stitch, bind off, various increases.
If you need to purchase supplies the day of class, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete your purchases before class begins.
