Winter Warmth Set

Purple and tan crocheted winter weather set, including a headband, cowl, and two wrist warmers
Life gets cold here where I live and so I crocheted up this delightfully warm winter set for a dear friend of mine.

Included is a headband, close-fitting cowl, and two wrist warmers using the split double crochet stitch in the round.

I have a pattern in development for this set. Subscribe to my email list if you haven't already to be the first to know when it's ready.

Cozy Wrist Warmers

Sewing in a basement can get rather chilly, so it's good to keep warm with a couple wrist warmers, or if those get in the way, tossing them down on the legs to keep the ankles warm.

Inspired by the Crystalline Cowl by Jane Vanselous on Ravelry, I used the opportunity to learn a new stitch and love on a friend who is ALWAYS cold.

Gigantic Pocket Shawl

Blue and gray crocheted pocket shawl on wooden floor
I spent weeks at night crocheting a row or two at a time of this gigantic pocket shawl. It could almost be considered a blanket it's so big! But, these are the things I do to show love to those closest to me, and my friend was delighted to receive it in the mail. Also, her kids tried to fight her for it, so I call that a complete win.

The pockets add a wonderful touch of practicality without being so large as to be entirely useless.

I have a pattern in development for this shawl. Stay tuned and subscribe to my email list if you haven't already to be the first to know when it's ready.

Wearable Blanket for baby (or as I like to call it, a Sleep Dress)

There comes a time in a baby's life when it is no longer safe to swaddle them. It's called when they roll over.

And, just sometimes, this coincides with winter.

Unfortunately, the cost of heating our house to an infant's sleep comfort level is rather prohibitive, so instead I made this. It's been such a smashing success that I actually made two of them and really, a third would be useful.

It helps to keep the baby warm without the danger of being smothered by blankets. My baby went from waking up several times a night to sleeping like, well, a baby as soon as we put this on.

I have a pattern written out that is currently being tested by a test knitter/crocheter and it will be available for purchase soon. Subscribe to my email list to be the first to know when it's ready.

Wool Diaper Soaker

Baby on a changing table wearing a handknitted maroon, tan, and brown knit wool soaker
Ever since we had our first baby, we've been cloth diaperers.

For this third baby, we made the move to wool and oh my goodness I am in love! These are so fun to knit up and make and they work absolute wonders in keeping the wet in, providing movement, and not leaking absolutely everywhere!

I first started by using other knit patterns, but wasn't entirely in love with them, so I started to figure out my own system and these are what I came up with. They are spacious, have a very high rise, drawstring, and double and triple strand protection in the wet zone.

I currently have this pattern out to a test knitter and it will be available for purchase soon. Subscribe to my email list to be the first to know when it's ready.
